Community center
De Enk, Assendoperplein, Zwolle.
Assendorp is a neighborhood where a lot of streets have group chats where they offer food, products, art, furniture but also discuss problems in the neighborhood.
To get out of our houses and away from our phones and meet our neighbors and new people, there is little space in Assendorp called "De Enk" which is a community center.
That is why these type of buildings have an important role in these neighborhoods.
Food connects
The center offers a lot of different classes and workshops for different age groups, but there is nothing for everybody together.
To create a space/workshop/class where everybody can work together the design includes a huge kitchen, that runs from the inside of the building to the outside. There is space for a lot of people and for example: the difference in hight of workbenches makes it possible for children and adults to work and cook together.
The flow form inside out and the open roof allows one to use the facilities day and night and cook both indoors and outdoors.

You could use the space when you have left over products or your own grown vegetables and fruits, you can cook, help or enjoy a meal or just talk with neighbors, family, friends, people you just met or be by yourself.
